October 2009

Hey, how's it going? Seems like ages since we spoke. That's our fault, we've been busier than five one-armed men in a w... Well... We've been very busy. We knew this year was going to be a huge one for us, and it just seems to keep on getting bigger.

It's Loz here, writing to you on our last day in Melbourne. We're about to take off on our first international tour, provided the Colonel remembers the passports.

We're Offski!

We hit Taiwan sometime on Wednesday, where we've got a couple days to adjust to the local tucker before we have a crack at our first international competition. A bit more than a week later, we're heading to Korea. There was another international competition happening there too, but they cancelled it due to fear of swine flu (!) so instead, we'll be doing a few random gigs and several television appearances.

The weather in Taiwan, incidentally, has been between 27 and 35 degrees with massive thunderstorms every day for at least the last month. We expect to be swimming in our underpants as much as we're singing in them.

Wish us luck, both with the contest and with keeping Een from jumping out of his skin. He's already read every existing travel guide to Taiwan and Korea cover to cover. It's a first time overseas thing, heh heh.

This trip is a big deal for us - it's our first proper chance to get ourselves some international exposure, and test our act against some tough competition from overseas. If we do well, we're hoping to get ourselves overseas a lot more regularly in the future, which will be a heck of a lot of fun.

Welcome us home @ The Chapel, Nov 8!

All good things must come to an end. And so must all dodgy, debaucherous and immoral things. We'll be coming home on November 6.

Give us a day to get over our jetlag, then come down for our end-of-tour party at the Chapel on Sunday the 8th of November. We'll have new songs, new dodgy dance moves, new tales of adventure aborad, and new tropical diseases to share.

This could well end up being our last proper public Suade show this year (them Christmas carols shows don't count!) and we should be in peak form, so c'mon down and say g'day!

Venue: The Chapel, 12 Little Chapel Street, Prahran, VIC - Australia
Date: Sunday 8 November
Time: 5 pm
Tickets: $30 Full, $20 Concession and Groups 10+, $90 Family (+ transaction fee)

Sorry about the late notice, in the last week we've been singing in Melbourne, Canberra and Wangaratta. Additionally, I'm slack.

MP3 discounts for our mailing list buddies!

I've just realised we can do discount coupons through our MP3 store - so I thought I'd pass one on to you poor buggers that we spam every month.

For 10% off any MP3 store purchases, just 'cause we love you, simply enter this month's secret mailing list discount code: eensbeard

Feel free to pass it on to your friends, it's our way of saying thanks and we appreciate your support! It'll expire in a month or so but we'll try to throw the odd special offer into this newsletter from time to time.

See you in November!

Love,
Loz
...and the Suade lads.

ps. Yes, I know Sammy's still in the header image and Rob's not. Just don't tell Rob, I think he'd get upset if he knew. ;)

The Colonel modelling a merchandise idea we're thinking of trying out... Would you wear a t-shirt with the undies man on it? Let us know in the comments here.
