Steal Your Heart

Bit of a tragedy, the character in this one. Loz wrote it walking home from a horrific job he had as a software analyst for Foxtel. The lydian mode it tends to play in probably comes from Loz's love of early Steve Vai stuff, while there are some definite Extreme influences in the 'instrumental' section in the middle, also known as the 'banana banana' section.

Lyrics:

It's her intention, I believe
For me eternally to grieve
So I can never let her go.

So some excuse is always found
And then she'll come and track me down
To ask advice or say hello

She'll steal your heart, run into the crowd and nobody else will see.

You know the ones I pity most
Are those competing with her ghost
The girls who've given me a chance

To some I've given honesty
Because it's easier for me
To be the one to end the dance

Look in her eyes and you will find she's already miles away.

CHORUS:

(She's in control) She holds the cards, she is the hand behind the scenes
(She knows the game) She writes the rules, and knows exactly what I mean
When I say
I'm OK

And people think that I've moved on
'Cause all the outward signs are gone
And I have told them
I'm OK.
